Offer for a Business Analyst Position, graduated from non-top-tier school

success stories

With the help of your videos and book, among other things, I received an offer for a Business Analyst position today. I stumbled across your workshop right after I received an interview.

Previously, I had used the Vault guide, Glass Door and other sites to guide me, but after sometime I became frustrated with the lack of structure and often incomplete information.

Your frameworks, tips, business analyst interview questions and answers – all worked wonders and allowed me to obtain my job offer.

I am a business graduate from a non-top tier university in Canada (mid-sized city in Canada), some extra curriculars including case competitions and DECA. Being in a smaller city, recruiters don’t come knocking but I was lucky enough to have secured a co-op as an Analyst at a large bank.

Unfortunately they were not hiring, which led me to apply to various Junior Business Analyst positions in my final year. Prior to that, I had gotten rejected from every accounting firm (no interviews, or couldn’t make it past second round). Interview skills were partly to blame, but I guess the interviewer could see that I wasn’t too enthused about being an accountant.

One thing I would like to stress that you don’t need to be from a top-tier school to become a business analyst. You just need to demonstrate the core characteristics, prepare for the BA specific interview questions and answers etc.

Again, thank you for your structured, and easy to understand videos, book and simplified articles. It definitely helped. Thanks!

My reply:

This is great news! Your email has really made my day – thank you for letting me know.

Congrats! And have fun.
